CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- A new law in New Jersey is aimed at improving safety at scrap metal facilities following a massive fire at EMR Recycling in Camden.
Local and state officials gathered at Wiggins Waterfront Park on Friday to highlight the bill that was signed into law on Thursday.
It comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding EMR Recycling, which has been home to more than 12 fires in the last 5 years.
The new law requires scrap metal businesses to implement stronger safety measures to prevent fires.
