Novelty 'KITT' license plate from 'Knight Rider' receives traffic ticket despite being in museum

A novelty license plate apparently confused New York City's traffic ticket cameras.

An authentic replica of KITT from the classic show "Knight Rider" received a traffic ticket in the mail.

The $50 ticket came to the Volo Museum in Illinois, accusing KITT of speeding in a school zone.

The only problem is, the 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has been on display at the Illinois museum for years.

The museum has requested a hearing to dispute the ticket.
