HARRISBURG, Pa. (WPVI) -- A statewide cellphone ban in Pennsylvania schools is moving closer to becoming law.
The Pennsylvania House passed a bill on Monday that would ban student cellphone use in all K-12 schools during the school day, including lunch and recess, with limited exceptions.
The measure passed 126 to 75 with bipartisan support and now heads to the Senate, which previously advanced a similar proposal.
A recent poll shows strong public support, with Governor Josh Shapiro also urging lawmakers to approve the ban.
