PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Gas prices jumped big time overnight.
AAA says the Philadelphia area average shot up 15 cents since Monday to $4.27 a gallon.

The South Jersey area and Delaware both rose 14 and 15 cents overnight.
The national average sits at $4.17 a gallon, although that price did not rise as dramatically as around the Philadelphia region -- only up 6 cents overnight.
All of this can be attributed to tensions with the Iran war, efforts to forge a deal to end the conflict and the continued clogging of oil shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz.
