PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Roxborough woman says she has spent years living under a barrage of golf balls that strike her home each time the weather warms, despite having no golf courses or driving ranges nearby.
The front of her property on Cinnaminson Street resembles a makeshift putting green, but she says the balls are coming from elsewhere.
The homeowner, who did not want her face shown, said the damage is visible on her siding.
"It's someone's bedroom window. I'm grateful that someone wasn't injured and it's just siding. But next time I might not be so lucky," she said.
She described the sound inside her home as "frightening" and said the problem has persisted for years. At one point, she said, "I had a ball narrowly miss my ear."
The woman believes someone may be hitting balls toward the wooded area known as Germany Hill, though she is not certain.
"People are free to walk that land and do what they want with it, but I'm not sure if it's coming from there or someone's rooftop or backyard," she said.
She said she understands someone might be "having a good time, blowing off end-of-day stress," but urged whoever is responsible to "take it to the range or the course."
She is in contact with the nearby police district.
"Clearly, there's a bigger crime in Philadelphia. I don't expect the same day or next day, but I do hope they are looking into it. Just because it's a quality of life issue," she said.
As snow continues to melt, she expects more golf balls to land on her property.
