Philly Rises Youth Civic Engagement School Tour teaches high school students about voting

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A group of high school students in West Philadelphia learned all about voting in elections on Tuesday.

The Action Cam stopped by West Philadelphia High School for the 'Philly Rises Youth Civic Engagement School Tour.'

The event was hosted by Omar Sabir, the chair of the Philadelphia city commissioners. He spoke to students about increasing voter turnout in disadvantaged communities, minimizing voter confusion and combating misinformation.

This effort was part of a collaboration with PA Youth Vote, the Urban League of Philadelphia, NAACP Philadelphia Branch, Committee of Seventy and NExT Philadelphia.
