Police: Dad used bag to sneak infant out of hospital

ARIZONA (WPVI) -- Surveillance video shows what looks to be a fairly ordinary scene.

A man carrying a plastic shopping bag around a hallway of a Glendale, Arizona hospital.

But it turns out, what was inside that bag was far from normal.

Police say that new father was actually trying to sneak his infant out of the maternity ward.

Apparently, the parents knew officers were going to take their newborn because they found drugs in her system at birth.

Though the father was able to make it out of the hospital, he didn't make it far.

Police arrested him as soon as they discovered the baby was missing.
