Police investigating fatal hit and run in Hunting Park

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run in the Hunting Park section of the city.

Officers were called to Whitaker Avenue and Luzerne Street around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, they found a 22-year-old man lying in the roadway.

He died at the scene.

Police say an off-duty officer heard the crash, checked the area, and found the victim.

That officer says they saw a silver SUV speeding away from the scene.

Police are now trying to identify that driver.
