Rare sighting of fair-weather funnel cloud confirmed in Delaware, NWS says

NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Del. (WPVI) -- A rare sighting today of a fair-weather funnel cloud in Delaware.

The National Weather Service confirmed it formed over New Castle County around 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday near the River-Bay Breeze.

Typically, people expect to see a funnel cloud when severe thunderstorms are around, but that wasn't the case this time.
