The Salvation Army's Red Shield Family Residence celebrates play space renvoations

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Salvation Army in Greater Philadelphia updated a place for children to play.

Renovations at the Red Shield Family Residence were just completed.

The residence on North Broad Street serves as an emergency housing shelter for families experiencing homelessness in North Philadelphia.

The play space renovations were made possible by the William Penn Foundation, HOPEPHL, Playful Learning Landscapes and Temple University.
