Suspected DUI driver hits police car in West Philadelphia; officer hurt

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia police officer is hospitalized after a crash involving a suspected drunk driver.

It happened at 1:50 a.m. Sunday near 52nd and Market Streets in West Philadelphia.

Police say a suspected drunk driver ran into the back of a 16th District patrol car.

The officer was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in stable condition.

The driver of the other vehicle was arrested and is facing DUI charges.
