Tobacco Atlas: Website unveils pioneering new snapshot of tobacco, smoking, and lung cancer in US

The American Cancer Society has unveiled a pioneering new snapshot of tobacco, smoking, and lung cancer in the U.S.

The Tobacco Atlas is a website packed with scientific information and insights, but is presented in a way so anyone can understand.

It looks at issues like smoking, vaping, and cancer rates on the regional and state levels.

For example, while just 11% of adults smoke nationally, which is a rates are much higher in the South and Midwest.

The atlas will be updated as new information comes in, such as the impact of Denver, Colorado's new ban on flavored tobacco and nicotine products.

Creators hope the atlas will not only show the progress the U.S. has made on tobacco control but spotlight the areas that need more work.
