VENTNOR, N.J. (WPVI) -- Ventnor police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a driver who left the scene after allegedly hitting a 92-year-old man.
"Why you hit and run? Just stop. Anyone can make a mistake, but don't do that," said Manny Parekh, who owns Bloom's Liquor store near the crash scene.
It happened Thursday evening around 6:30 p.m.
In surveillance video from a business at the intersection, you can see the man starting to cross Ventnor Avenue in the crosswalk at Newport Avenue, and it appears he was crossing against the traffic signal.

A white SUV comes down Ventnor Avenue and strikes the man.
Police say that the driver took off.
Police say the 92-year-old man from Ventnor was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
"I heard a noise in the living room and we came down. I looked out the window. The man was laying in the street," said Tom Harris who lives and owns a business near the intersection. "My wife grabbed a blanket and we came down and tried to assist him."
Police say they are looking for a white Volvo SUV, possibly an XC40, and it would likely have front-end damage.
Folks who live and work in this area hope the driver is caught soon.
"To see the man blown out of his shoes. It was incredible. His sneakers were 30 feet away from him," said Harris.
Police say the victim was stabilized once he got to the hospital. His name is not being released.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Ventnor City Police Department at 609-822-2101.
