Wawa to close digital-only store in University City this month

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Wawa is shutting down an experimental location in Philadelphia's University City section.

The company is closing its "shelfless" and fully digital store on the 3300 block of Market Street.

The concept allowed customers to order ahead using the Wawa app or through in-store screens and then pick up their items.

It will close for good on January 21.
