West Chester University among several Pennsylvania schools targeted in swatting hoax

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- West Chester University is operating on a normal schedule following a swatting hoax.

The school posted an update to its website Sunday night.

A prank caller claimed there was an active shooter in the library on Sunday. University police determined the tip to be false.

West Chester was one of several Pennsylvania colleges targeted by swatters on Sunday, including Shippensburg and Millersville universities.
