Police ID 2 killed in West Philly shooting that left 3 others injured

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have released the names of the two men killed in a shooting on Monday night in West Philadelphia that also left three other men injured.

The gunfire erupted around 8:40 p.m. near the 318 Bar at the corner of 60th and Delancey streets.

According to police, a masked gunman began shooting into a crowd from a white vehicle.

Five men were shot and two of them were killed.

Crime scene investigators say at least 15 shell casings were recovered at the scene.

The two victims who died were taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. They have been identified as 24-year-old Paul Cobb and 24-year-old Naasir Boyd, both from Philadelphia.

"I'm devastated. I'm angry," said Cobbs' mother, Tiffany Thurston. "I don't want no repercussions. I just want us to come together as a community, and this violence has to stop."

Investigators say the three other victims were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

A 36-year-old man is listed in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the stomach. The two other men, ages 54 and 35, are listed in stable condition after being shot in the legs.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Officers are searching the area for surveillance video to learn more about what led up to the shooting.
