PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A woman has died after being wounded in a double shooting in Philadelphia over the weekend.

Police say 27-year-old Jumayah Winfield died on Monday. She was one of two victims shot early Saturday morning.

Officials say Winfield and a 23-year-old woman left a bar around 2:30 a.m. and were on their way to drop Winfield off at home.

Roughly 15 minutes into their drive, police say a dark-colored sedan pulled up alongside the passenger's side of the vehicle, where Winfield was sitting.

Following a brief verbal argument between the 23-year-old woman who was driving and an occupant in the sedan, police say someone inside the dark vehicle opened fire.

The suspect vehicle immediately fled the scene.

That's when the driver realized that Winfield was unresponsive and bleeding.

The driver then rushed to Temple ER.

Winfield suffered a gunshot wound to her left eye and was initially placed in critical condition.

The 23-year-old driver was treated for a gunshot wound to her left shoulder and remains in stable condition.

Police say the motive for the shooting stemmed from the argument.

No arrests have been made. The case has now been transferred from the Shooting Investigation Group to the Homicide Unit.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspect vehicle is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department.
