Woman dies after double shooting in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia detectives are investigating a double shooting in North Philadelphia that turned fatal late Sunday night.

Evidence markers were seen on the street, sidewalk and a porch on North 24th Street, by Cambria, as the Crime Scene Unit combed the area.

Officers were dispatched shortly before midnight. When they arrived, they found a man and a woman, both in their 60s, who had been shot.

The two shooting victims were rushed to Temple University Hospital, and investigators tell Action News the woman was pronounced dead a short time later.

The condition of the other victim was not immediately released.

No word yet from police on any arrests or what led up to the shooting.
