Woman hospitalized after being shot in Tioga-Nicetown

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A woman is in the hospital after being shot in the city's Tioga-Nicetown section.

Officers responded to the 3300 block of North Smedley Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday for reports of a shooting.

Police found a 29-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her right shoulder.

She was taken to Temple University Hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

Investigators are now looking to speak with her neighbor, who may have answers.

He was seen leaving the area after the shooting.
