Philadelphia's Dad Vail Regatta gets new corporate sponsor

PHILADELPHIA -- The Dad Vail Regatta, an annual tradition on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, has a new corporate sponsor this year.

Mayor Jim Kenney and Congressman Bob Brady announced that Independence Blue Cross is the new sponsor of the race.

The announcement happened at Philadelphia City Hall Monday morning.

Dad Vail board members thanked the company for stepping up to help keep this important part of the Philadelphia rowing tradition alive and thriving.

The 79th annual Dad Vail Regatta takes place on May 12th and 13th.
