Sex offender escapee back in custody in Cumberland Co

FAIRFIELD TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A convicted sex offender is back in custody after escaping on Tuesday morning in Cumberland County, New Jersey.

Caesar Lockley, 25, escaped from police in the 1500 block of Route 49 in Fairfield Township around 10:30 a.m.

He was nabbed by the Millville Police Department at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds by mid-afternoon.

Schools in the area were notified, and officers were posted until the end of the school day.

He was arrested for failing to appear at sentencing in March. At that time, he was scheduled to be sentenced for failing to notify authorities of a change of address as required by a Megan's Law offender.
