Some Philadelphia students got got a big boost Friday, toward earning those diplomas years down the line

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- Some significantly younger students got got a big boost Friday, toward earning those diplomas years down the line.

Clifford the Big Red Dog was on hand at Lewis Elkin Elementary, as the Philadelpia School District received 37 thousand backpacks, stuffed with books from Scholastic.

Each student got 10 free books to ensure that their summers are filled with reading.

The goal is to make sure they come back in the Fall with the reading skills in tact.
