Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny, who left Monday's 4-3 victory over the Calgary Flames with an upper-body injury, missed Tuesday's game at the Edmonton Oilers.

Konecny was shoved from behind into the boards by Calgary defenseman MacKenzie Weegar. He slid along the ice for a few seconds, on his stomach, before skating off to the Flyers' locker room. Training staff went with him as the veteran was hunched over.

Without Konecny, the Flyers failed to protect a third-period lead in Edmonton. Connor McDavid scored twice in the final frame, and Leon Draisaitl added another as the Oilers posted a 4-2 victory.

A bright spot in a rebuilding season for the Flyers, Konecny has 27 goals and has been a consistent presence up front for a club that has lacked offense in coach John Tortorella's first season.

"Really big loss for us in a type of game like that," said Tortorella, who did not have an update on the injury in his postgame media availability in Calgary. "He's found his game. He's a very active player for us."

Konecny opened the scoring with a tally in the first period against the Flames. It was assisted by Noah Cates and Tony DeAngelo.

Konecny will be assessed by the team's medical staff when the Flyers return to Philadelphia, the club said. Tuesday's contest concludes a four-game road trip for the Flyers.

"Guys are going to have to step up in different situations if we need it," Flyers forward Scott Laughton said. "I'm just hoping he'll be OK."
