The Philadelphia Phillies acquired reliever Michael Rucker from the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday for cash considerations.
The 29-year-old right-hander was 2-1 with a 4.91 ERA in 35 appearances out of the Chicago bullpen in 2023.
Rucker is 5-2 with a 4.96 ERA and one save in 96 games (no starts) since making his debut with the Cubs in 2021. He has struck out 120 and walked 50 in 123 innings.
To make room for Rucker on the 40-man roster, the Phillies designated right-hander Andrew Bellatti for assignment.
