PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Could the next team Villanova graduate Ryan Arcidiacono play for be the Philadelphia 76ers?
Action News has learned the Langhorne, Bucks County native and Final Four MVP plans to work out with the team on Monday.
Arch worked out with the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
In his 144th and last game for Villanova, with his last pass, Arcidiacono became a national champion.
The point guard was dribbling toward the basket with the clock winding down and defenders closing in when he heard Kris Jenkins calling for the ball from behind. Arcidiacono passed to his open teammate, whose 3-pointer beat the buzzer for a 77-74 victory over North Carolina in the national title game.
"We work on that play every single day in practice," Arcidiacono said after the victory. "I'm always the one with the ball. I think coach has confidence in me and my teammates have confidence in me. I was trying to be aggressive. It's not about me taking the right shot. It's about me making the right read. I think I just did that."
The 76ers have the first pick in next week's draft. They are expected to select either Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram.
