Police are searching for a teen who escaped from a juvenile correctional van while being transported to court Wednesday night.

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Police are searching for a teen who escaped from a juvenile correctional van while being transported to court Wednesday night.

The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m. in Wilmington on the 400 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Police said 17-year-old Dejuan Robinson kicked out a window of the van and jumped out while the vehicle was still moving.

Robinson appears to have freed himself from his shackles and police said he is considered armed and dangerous.
