Volunteers take advantage of nice weather to plant trees in Fairmount Park

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A group of volunteers took advantage of Tuesday's nice weather to plant treats in Fairmount Park.

"The weather just happens to be amazing. It was planned over a month ago," said Becky Anderson, of Colorado.

Thanks to all the rain we've had in recent weeks, this project is sorely needed.

"That will help prevent flooding, that will help prevent erosion and obviously the carbon footprint as well," said John Sigmund with the Fairmount Park Conservancy.
