AccuWeather: Chasing record highs today
Temperatures may be rather summer-like still, but we have a cooldown in store for the weekend.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It's another summer-like afternoon today, but temperatures will be cooling down by the weekend.

TODAY: Sun, few clouds. Temperatures will be within reach of the daily record high of 89 set back in 2010. We're forecasting a high of 88 this afternoon.

FRIDAY: It's a much cooler day, but temperatures will be more seasonable. We're forecasting a high near 70 in the city with clouds and some sun. There will be a range in temperatures with highs in the 50s near the shore to low 70s in our far western suburbs.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy and cooler with a shower around, high 65.

SUNDAY: Cloudy and cool with rain at times, some of which could be steady, high 63.

MONDAY: Turning milder with a mix of clouds and sun, high 79.

TUESDAY: Clouds, some sun, high 80.

WEDNESDAY: Clouds and sun with a shower possible, high 82.

THURSDAY: Rather cloudy with the chance for a shower or thunderstorm, high 79.
