3 pools open in Wilmington for Memorial Day

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Three Wilmington city pools will be open for Memorial Day weekend.

Mayor Dennis P. Williams said the pools will be open beginning Saturday, May 24th, earlier in the season than in years past.

"Kids need to have a positive outlet, and opening the pools early provides the youth with a safe place to play, have fun and interact together," said Mayor Williams in a statement.

Also for Memorial Day, the city will host a community barbecue at Prices Pool from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.

This weekend's pool schedule is:

Prices Pool, located at 26th and Thatcher Streets, will open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Brown Pool, located at 7th & Lombard Streets, will open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Eden Pool, located at 900 New Castle Avenue, will open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
