Officials have identified the man killed in an accident on a SEPTA rail line in Southwest Philadelphia.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Officials have identified the man killed in an accident on a SEPTA rail line in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened just before 12:30 p.m. Friday near the Angora Station near 58th and Hoffman streets.

Officials say 71-year-old John Glassner fell into the tracks in front of the SEPTA Media/Elwyn train which was heading towards Center City Philadelphia.

Glassner was pronounced dead at the scene.

SEPTA service was suspended on the entire line between Media and Center City for several hours.

Service has since resumed.

The accident is under investigation.
