SHARON HILL, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police in Delaware County are looking for two suspects after a shooting sent a man to the hospital.

It happened Wednesday night around 6:45 outside a Family Dollar store in Sharon Hill.

Police say the 35-year-old victim was sitting in the passenger's seat of a car in the parking lot of Chester Pike Plaza when two men in their twenties approached, opened the passenger side door and told him they were being robbed.

There was a struggle, the victim was struck in the head with an unknown object, and then one shot was fired from a small silver handgun, hitting the victim.

A woman, who was sitting the driver's seat, drove the victim to the hospital.

The two suspects fled.

Nearby stores were still open as this all unfolded.

Markey Woods of Folcroft tells us, "Wednesday night everything's open, laundromat is open, definitely a lot of people around that time."

And yet some say the busy surroundings are not enough to dissuade some criminals.

The shopping plaza is on a busy road. Some surveillance cameras can be seen nearby, but the question is if there is any footage that can help in this investigation.
