Fleeing driver arrested after Fairmount Park crash

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- A man has been arrested after a hit-and-run accident in Fairmount Park.

The accident occurred around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday at Ford Road and Chamonix Drive.

Police say a car and an SUV collided and one of the drivers fled the scene.

Police tracked the driver through the park and onto to border of the Schuylkill Expressway where he was apprehended.

Two people were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
