EAST FALLS (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police say two suspects fleeing the scene of an attempted home invasion in Germantown crashed in the East Falls section, injuring three innocent people.

It all began around 10 a.m. in the 5000 block of Wade Street.

Police say the two suspects, believed to be upset over a stolen ATV, kicked in the doors of two homes on the block.

Before they could get inside or harm anyone, somebody called police. When officers arrived, the suspects took off.

At the East Falls intersection they crashed into two other cars. Three people in those two other cars suffered minor injuries.

One suspect got out and ran into a nearby apartment complex.

"I was just coming in from dropping my nieces off at school. My brother, he was actually in the apartment building," said Filbe Fracois. "There was a guy who just ran by, armed, and just ran into the basement."

Police say they apprehended the suspect who ran into the apartment building immediately. Police recovered one gun on the street and another in the suspects' vehicle. The second suspect got away.

The suspect who was apprehended was to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Nearby Penn Charter was locked down for a short time.
