Juvenile dies after e-bike crashes into truck in Southampton Township, Burlington County: Police

SOUTHAMPTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- New Jersey state police are investigating a deadly incident after a juvenile on an electric bike allegedly crashed into a UPS truck in Burlington County on Tuesday.

Troopers were called to the unit block of Tranquility Drive, near Route 70, in Southampton Township around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say a juvenile on a Talaria electric dirt bike slammed into the back of the truck at the intersection of Tranquility Court and North Firelane Road.

The e-biker sustained fatal injuries from the impact, according to police.

Action News was at the scene as the coroner's office arrived.

Police have not released any information about the young victim.

No other injuries were reported.

UPS released a statement to Action News, saying, "We are heartbroken by the tragic accident."

The company went on to say it is fully cooperating with authorities.

The crash remains under investigation.
