A high rise apartment fire claimed the life of a man in Philadelphia's Chestnut Hill section.

CHESTNUT HILL (WPVI) -- A high rise apartment fire claimed the life of a man in Philadelphia's Chestnut Hill section.

The blaze broke out around 1:18 a.m. Saturday at the Chestnut Hill Tower Apartments on the 7600 block of Stenton Avenue.

Firefighters rushed to a unit on the top floor of the 18-story structure.

Crews pulled an unconscious man from the apartment.

The victim, in his 50s was pronounced dead at Einstein Hospital.

Firefighters had to evacuate the building during the blaze.

The residents have since been allowed to return.

So far, there's no word on what sparked the blaze.
