PARADISE, Pa. (WPVI) -- A school bus carrying special needs students was involved in a collision in Lancaster County Monday morning, injuring at least six people, four of them children.

There was no immediate word on the extent of the injuries.

Authorities said the crash happened before 8:30 a.m. Monday in Paradise Township and involved a dump truck.

Lancaster General Hospital spokeswoman Frieda Schmidt said four students and two adults were being treated in the emergency room, but that their injuries weren't life-threatening.

Paradise Fire Company Chief Pat Cosgrove told LNP newspapers that seven children and the bus driver were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

LNP said a medical helicopter was initially put on standby but was cancelled minutes later.
