Fire erupts after SUV crashes into Lehigh Valley home

LOWER MAGUNGIE TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A fire erupted after an SUV crashed into a home in the Lehigh Valley on Thursday evening.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on the 6100 block of Sauterne Drive in Lower Macungie Twp.

The SUV crashed through a wall and came to rest inside the home.

A person who was sleeping in a room at the time was able to escape safely, according to officials.

The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities are investigating what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
