Temple Owls to play Notre Dame on Saturday Night Football on 6abc

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The undefeated and nationally ranked Temple Owls are coming to 6abc primetime this Halloween as they play the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on ABC Saturday Night Football.

This will be the first time Temple Football will be televised nationally by ABC. It is also the first time that an American Athletic Conference team has been selected as the ABC Saturday Night Football Game.

With its 30-16 win over Central Florida on Saturday, Temple earned a 6-0 record tying the best start in program history and became bowl eligible.

For the first time since 1979, Temple is nationally ranked: #24 in USA Today poll and #22 in AP.

Notre Dame is 6-1 overall and has won its last two games.

Temple plays at East Carolina Thursday night on ESPN2. Notre Dame has a bye week.
