Police are investigating a crash on the Blue Route that left one person dead and another injured in Nether Providence Township, Delaware County.

NETHER PROVIDENCE TWP., PA. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a crash on the Blue Route that left one person dead and another injured in Nether Providence Township, Delaware County.

The crash happened around 12:45 a.m. Saturday in the southbound lanes between the Swarthmore/Media exit and exit 1 McDade Boulevard.

Police say the driver lost control of the vehicle and it rolled over, trapping two people inside.

Crews worked for more than 30 minutes to rescue the victims, police said.

The driver, a 37-year-old man, died in the crash. The passenger, a 30-year-old woman, is hospitalized at Crozer-Chester Hospital. There is no word on her condition.

The road was closed while police investigated.
