CHELTENHAM, Pa. (WPVI) -- The upcoming 2026 varsity and junior varsity football season for Cheltenham High School has been canceled, the school district announced Tuesday.
Last year's season was suspended after an investigation found there was a student-on-student assault in the team's locker room.

The school district says several critical tasks that need to take place before the program can resume have not yet been completed.
The district is currently waiting for the findings from both Cheltenham police and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.
Superintendent Dr. Brian Scriven says the district will explore opportunities for coaches and advisors to make sure the pep band, drumline, color guard and cheerleading are still able to compete and represent the high school across other athletic programs.
"Our students, families, and fans deserve the opportunity to enjoy the spirit and excitement that these teams contribute to the overall game-day experience," he said in a statement.
The district adds it will still field a 9th grade football team.
