Person killed by SEPTA train, service resumes on Media-Elwyn line

A person was struck and killed by a SEPTA train on the Media Elwyn Regional Rail line resulting in the suspension of service for two hours.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A person was struck and killed by a SEPTA train on the Media Elwyn Regional Rail line resulting in the suspension of service for two hours.

It happened just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Angora station in the 100 block of South 58th Street.

Officials say someone was struck and killed, but no other details are known.

The incident is under investigation.

All service resumed shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Regional Rail is one of the services running during the SEPTA strike which is in its second day.
