Many might already be staying inside and avoiding the outdoors as Philadelphia heats up for its 5th heat wave of the year, with temps expected to hit the triple digits Wednesday.

By Wednesday afternoon, intense smoke from the wildfires will spread into the East Coast and Midwest, including parts of the New England coast, northern Pennsylvania, Detroit and Milwaukee, according to Tyler Hasenstein, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
