Robbers swipe $6K in cell phones from South Philadelphia store

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a pair of thieves worked together to pull off the robbery of a cell phone store in South Philadelphia.

The incident happened inside the MetroPCS store along the 2100 block of Oregon Avenue on October 15.

Detectives say one of the suspects asked to see a phone and then the second suspect walked behind the counter.

He announced the robbery and the men filled a backpack and two bags with 22 phones and accessories worth $6,600 dollars.

No one was hurt.

Police describe the first suspect as a black male, 30 years-old, 5'8 tall with a full beard, low cut hair and dark complexion. He was wearing a black fleece jacket, navy blue shirt, and jeans.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years-old, 6'1 tall with a mustache, bumps on face and dark complexion. He was wearing a black jacket with a blue hooded sweatshirt underneath.
