Man shot during robbery attempt in Strawberry Mansion

STRAWBERRY MANSION (WPVI) -- Authorities say one person was shot during an attempted robbery in Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion section.

It happened around 6:50 Thursday night at 29th Street and Susquehanna Avenue.

Police say a suspect opened fire striking the victim, a man in his 40s, in the lower back.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

Officers apprehended the suspect and recovered a weapon.

Police continue to investigate.
