WILMINGTON, Delaware (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police are searching for two men accused of shooting a man to death in front of a Sunoco gas station in Wilmington on Thursday.

The shooting happened just before 6:15 a.m. at the Sunoco gas station on Maryland Avenue at Robinson Lane, troopers said.

Two men approached the 34-year-old victim near the front doors of the store and fired several shots, striking the man multiple times, according to Sr. Corporal Jason Hatchell.

Troopers are still working to determine whether the men fled on foot or got away in a vehicle.

At least 15 evidence markers were on the ground outside the store as troopers investigated the shooting.

Hatchell said the investigation is still in the early stages and that they're asking anyone who heard or saw something to come forward with information.

Investigators are working to contact the victim's next of kin.
