The Maple Shade Police Department was called to the Bel-Air Motor Lodge on the 2800 block of Route 73 just before 11:30 a.m. for the report of an unresponsive woman.
The woman was discovered inside a room in the motel, but no further details have been released.
The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office says the victim's name is being withheld until her identity is confirmed and her family has been notified.
An autopsy will be performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood to determine the cause and manner of death.
No arrests have been made.
The investigation, which is being conducted by the Prosecutor's Office and the Maple Shade Police Department, is ongoing.
