PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man who said he was shot during an attempted carjacking in Philadelphia was actually wounded from a self-inflicted gunshot, police say.
According to surveillance video, the victim shot himself around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 100 block of East Fisher Avenue in the city's Olney section.
Police said there was no attempted carjacking.

He originally told police he was with his mother when a suspect approached him, engaged him in a fight and shot him in the foot.
The man was taken to the hospital in stable condition. His mother was not injured.
