Dover man convicted in 2 deaths

DOVER, Del. (AP) - October 21, 2008 A Kent County jury this month found 21-year-old Justine Erskine guilty of first-degree murder in the June 2006 deaths of 32-year-old Trevor Moncrief and 41-year-old Raymond Ward.

The state did not seek the death penalty, meaning Erskine must be sentenced to life in prison without parole. Prosecutors say Erskine rejected a plea deal that included a prison recommendation of five to 15 years.

Authorities say Erskine provided the knife used by an accomplice to stab Moncrief.

Co-defendant David Hamilton was sentenced to 30 years in prison for his guilty plea last year. Felton-area resident Jesus Aviles is set for trial Dec. 1.
