NJ state police detective convicted in high speed chase, deadly crash involving motorcycle

CAMDEN COUNTY, N.J. (WPVI) -- New video shows a New Jersey state police detective in his role during a deadly high-speed chase in Burlington County.

A Camden County jury found 47-year-old Detective Mark Campagna, of Mays Landing, guilty on Thursday of endangering another person during the incident in 2023.

Video now released from a police mobile recorder shows him following a motorcyclist while off-duty in an unmarked vehicle, reaching speeds past 100 miles per hour without lights or sirens.

The chase ended in Springfield Township, where the motorcyclist -- identified as 24-year-old Omar Kebbabi, from Queens, New York -- collided with another vehicle and was killed.

Campagna faces up to 18 months in prison for the conviction.

Sentencing is set for July 30.
