$200,000 lamp stolen from home

SMYRNA, Del. - March 6, 2009 The Smyrna Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred on Thursday morning in the 500 block of Marilyn Road in Smyrna.

The homeowner arrived home after a short trip and found the rear garage door had been forced opened and then forced entry into the residence from the garage.

A total of nine lamps were removed from the residence, one of them being a Tiffany Wisteria lamp valued between $200,000 and $250,000.

There were several other items taken including Silver Certificates and a full set of US State quarters from both Mints.

A grey or silver Mercedes Benz, possibly a hatchback, with a Mercedes Benz plate on the front bumper was observed in the driveway by neighbors during the above time frame.

Anyone with information about the burglary is requested to contact the Smyrna Police Department Special Investigations Unit.
